Greenhalgh’s fundraising evening raised £1310.00 for DERIAN HOUSE CHILDREN’S HOSPICE at CHORLEY. This took place on Saturday 6th April 2013 and was a huge success. The event was held at The Civic Hall Wood Road Aspull Wigan in memory of Abigail, an 11 year old young lady. She had originally been diagnosed with a brain tumour and survived the initial life–threatening operation, but could not ultimately fight off its re-appearance. Sadly on 10th November 2012 Abigail passed away at Derian House Children’s Hospice.
The charity evening was a fantastic event complete with Abigail’s parents Gary, Bernie, family and friends in attendance. Greenhalgh’s bakery, retail and office staff, Singer Matt Phillips, resident DJ Carl, were also present with lots of raffle prizes.
Derian House has long been a favorite contact of Greenhalgh’s in its charitable giving, largely through the fundraising efforts of Mrs. Carol Ratcliffe who has organized many events over the years. A bouquet of flowers was presented to Carol Ratcliffe on the evening by Gill Kirkham of Derian House in appreciation for her efforts
