General Bakery Operative

Day Shift Bakery Operatives – Crescent Road.

You will be required to work 5 days a week between Monday – Saturday (inclusive) on Days Shift (1 weekend day and 1 weekday off). Operatives have a 30 minute unpaid lunch break plus up to two additional 10 minute paid breaks during each shift.

We occasionally have a variety of start times available (please enquire), and contracts are based on approximately 40 hour working weeks, however we do not operate a specific finish time. Most bakery operative roles are “job and finish” which means that you will finish’ at different times depending on production requirements. As production levels may vary at busy seasonal times and shifts can be up to 10-12+ hours, employees are asked to be flexible with their working hours.

Bakery colleagues work as part of a team to achieve production requirements on a daily basis, ensuring that all work is undertaken in accordance with the Company procedures to meet product quality standards. It is a fast paced but friendly production environment.


Good spoken and written communication skills are required and you must be able to understand and follow instructions. All positions involve manual handling, lifting and carrying. All roles are standing jobs. Although some experience is preferable, full on-the-job training will be provided.

Please note that all operative positions are offered on temporary contracts initially, however, colleagues who work hard, fit in, learn fast and are reliable are likely to secure a permanent position with the Company.

You must be eligible to work in the UK.


Rate of Pay: Operatives start on the National Minimum Wage for their age band

Holidays: 28 days per annum, including bank holidays.
