LOCAL CHARIES BENEFIT FROM PLASTIC BAG CHARGES

LOCAL CHARIES BENEFIT FROM PLASTIC BAG CHARGES

28th December 2015

Following the introduction of government regulations concerning the charging of 5p per single use plastic carrier bag, Greenhalgh’s almost instantly decided that it would place the fullest amount of revenue from this source to local charities.

Situated at Lostock in Bolton, we have 14 shops within the Bolton Council Area. “Where better”, thought David Smart - Managing Director, “to place our sponsorship monies than with the Bolton Together Forum which itself comprises 36 individual charities all within the Bolton Metropolitan area. Our Company exists because of customers in the local community and we wished to show our support in return for local community charities. We are absolutely delighted to be donating our first sponsorship cheque to the Bolton Together Forum and are extremely grateful to the Lady Mayor, Cllr Carole Swarbrick and David Reid and his colleagues from Bolton Together for visiting the Bakery to mark the significance of this event.”
