Staff Loyalty Rewarded

Staff Loyalty Rewarded

25th November 2011

It is with an immensely proud feeling that the Board of Directors congratulates both David Whittle (Vehicle Manager) and David Fury (Security Manager) on achieving the landmark of 40 years plus service with Greenhalgh’s. David Whittle joined the company in 1968 as a 15 year old apprentice mechanic and David Fury in 1971 as a 15 year old production operative. The company has moved premises since that time and despite being on the current site at Crescent Road for exactly 40 years, both David’s remember the previous premises at Julia Street, Horwich. They have witnessed the growth of the company over the last four decades from a small bakery with eight or ten shops to the key employer which it is in the borough today. The sixtieth shop opened at Devonshire Road recently and the company also has a large wholesale division servicing many national supermarkets. As a reward for their unstinting service over the years the company has arranged for both employees to experience luxury cruises with their partners. The Baltic and the Mediterranean seem to be the preferred destinations! Pictured are (left to right) David Whittle and David Fury receiving their certificate.
