Title: New product, Greenhalgh’s
Launches Low GI Bread
Greenhalgh’s Craft Bakery has just launched a
multi-seed brown bread which is low GI. GI or
Glycaemic Index is the measure by which food is
broken down and absorbed into the blood stream as
glucose and insulin. The faster this occurs, the
higher its GI rating - the so-called “sugar rush” -
which is short lived and leaves a person feeling
hungry and fatigued afterwards. The lower the GI
rating, the slower it occurs. Low GI foods leave one
feeling fuller for longer and thus help towards
curbing the habitual snacking that is a contributory
factor to obesity problems in today’s society.
The new low GI multi-seed bread from
Greenhalgh’s is made using wheat flour, rye flour,
linseed, pumpkin seeds, oats and bran. It is
available in large or small unsliced loaves or 4
packs of rolls. Greenhalgh’s offers a free slicing
service for any unsliced loaves it sells. The low
GI multi-seed loaf is now available throughout
Greenhalgh’s chain of 43 shops located across
Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire, as well
as its fleet of wholesale vans, which make daily
deliveries throughout the North West. A large low GI
multi-seed loaf retails at £1.69, a small loaf at
99p and a pack of 4 rolls also at 99p. |
